At A Distance To The Foreground

Privilege is at times, or perhaps most of the time, taken for granted, whether historically proven or in an attempt to preserve history. This selection of International New Shorts probes myriad perspectives of privilege, from those who seek to maintain the status quo and those who fight to disrupt it. An ‘afronaut’ emerges from a wrecked spaceship in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Migrant workers face a cycle of exploitation, a holiday trip goes up in flames, an older sibling convinces the younger that change is coming. Somewhere, an experimental film collective is ‘backing up’ our world in 3D, ready for a reboot - will the archive save us after all?
